Original Amidain temple had been established on 788, Nara-era and they said, it used to be in the site of Renge-fuji temple. The current temple was built probably in the early stage of the 17th Century. Therefore, there is a strong relationship between Renge-fuji temple and this temple, and some of sculptures were given to this temple from Renge-fuji temple. For example, Dainichi Nyorai, the gilt bronze Buddha and Amida Nyorai were so, and now, those two Buddha are principal in this temple even though almost all temples are having one.
The February 15th of every year, Daihannyagyou, a service dedicated to the ritual reading of the 600-fascicle translation of the hannyagyou is carried out for pray “good haul”.
Another interesting point of this temple, a Inari shrine is located on the Amidain site and the Lion dance appears from the shrine during Ogi festival.

Amida Nyorai & Dainichi Nryorai
Originally, the principal enshrined Buddha of this temple is probably Amida Nryorai, the almighty god. Then the 2nd principal Dainichi Nryorai (Vairocana Buddha) was transferred from Renge-fuji temple.

Nehan-zu:Very large size picture which width is 3.6m, height is 4.5m was probably painted on the early stage of the 19th century. Nehan-zu meaning, a genre of painting that depicts the death of the historical Buddha and his full and complete entrance into the state or perfect peace known as nirvana.
